5000m Men 31/07 Winner Sammy Kipketer Kenya Time 13:13.51
Sammy Kipketer led a Kenyan 1-2-3 in the 5,000m final. Kipketer outsprinted the favourite Benjamin Limo and set a new Games record with a time of 13:13.51. Willy Kiptoo Kiru captured the bronze ahead of John Mayock of England.
