Edinburgh
marathon : McGowan wins in 2:35.2 posted 16 June
 FRANK
McGowan threw much of the conventional advice about
distance running out the window yesterday, yet still
won the Syntegra 2003 Edinburgh Marathon by almost a
minute. The Glaswegians time of two hours, 35
minutes 21 seconds on a demanding course took him home
well clear of Arbroaths Rory Campbell (2:36.17secs)
and Edinburghs Martin Ferguson (2:40.44secs),
but his preparation could hardly be called ideal. .
