UKA Ultra Trail Championships winners Andy James and Kate Jenkins lead the ten-strong Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for the IAU World Trial Challenge in Connemara, Ireland on Saturday 9 July.
The pair, winners of April’s Highland Fling 53 mile event which incorporated the official trial, delivered impressive performances to take victory.
James won the men’s race in a new course record of 7.12.08 while Scottish 50k champion Jenkins took the UK women’s title in 9:04:24, the third fastest women’s time ever on the course.
UKA 100k champion Craig Stewart, who clocked a PB of 7:01:36 when taking victory on that occasion, has also been named on the Aviva GB & NI team alongside Karen Rushton, second female overall in that event.
