After the biggest year of athletics the country has ever seen, world-class athletics returns to the UK for the 2013 season with events in Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and London.

The indoor season gets underway with the British Athletics International Match at Glasgow’s brand new state-of-the-art Commonwealth Arena on Saturday 26 January before moving on to Sheffield for the British Athletics European Trials and UK Championships on 9-10 February. The season will finish in style, as the British Athletics Grand Prix returns to the NIA in Birmingham on Saturday 16 February – widely regarded as the world’s best indoor athletics event.

Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium will kick-off the outdoor season as the prestigious Samsung Diamond League returns to the UK for the star-studded British Athletics Birmingham Grand Prix on Sunday 30 June. Athletics will remain in West Midlands for the British Athletics World Trials and UK Championships on 12-14 July, as Britain’s best look to book their place on the GB&NI team for the IAAF World Championships in Moscow. The 2013 season will close with the world’s best athletes descending on Crystal Palace for the British Athletics London Grand Prix on 26-27 July.
