Loughborough International

Selection for the Loughborough International will be made by a Selection Committee which will consist of an Independent Chairman, Head Coach, National Event Coaching Representative, Two representatives from Track and Field Commission (one of which must sit on the Commission) and the scottishathletics Statistician. Those with votes are the Head Coach and a representative from Track and Field, and then the Chairman has the casting vote.

Proposed selection date 10 May 2011 (Post National Open/Loughborough Trial)

Selection will be made according to the following criteria:

1. The scottishathletics nationality qualification shall apply.

2. Athletes must be current members of scottishathletics

3. Selectors will make their selection based on nominations from the National
Coaches taking account of:

• Scottish rankings and performances at National Open/Loughborough Trials

• Current and, where applicable, head-to-head form

• The nature and quality of the event at which performances were achieved eg presence of qualified officials, use of automatic timing, licensing status of facility etc

• Athlete availability

• Any other relevant factors eg fitness status, ability to compete at the required level, commitment to and conduct at previous international opportunities

4. Where the selection for an event involves an athlete with whom a selector is closely involved e.g. as Manager or Personal Coach, then the selector involved will play no part in the selection for that event

5. The decision of the selectors is final. Any correspondence regarding selections must be forwarded to the Chair of Selectors via scottishathletics for response. No other response will be deemed official

6. All international selections are dependent on athlete full acceptance of the terms of the International Athlete Code of Conduct issued to all selected athletes

7. Any athlete substitutions resulting from changes in athlete availability, fitness status, injury, illness etc occurring post-selection will be based on named reserves from the selection meeting. Any further substitutions that may be required beyond this are the responsibility of the Head Coach and International Teams Administrator on the recommendation of the relevant National Event Coach.

100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 100m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 3000m Steeplechase, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Putt, Hammer, Javelin, Discus, 4 x 100m Relay, 4 x 400m Relay

Men
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 3000m Steeplechase, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Putt, Hammer, Javelin, Discus, 4 x 100m Relay, 4 x 400m Relay

Though all 2011 performances will be given consideration in the selection of the team; preference will be given to performances at the scottishathletics National Open/Loughborough Trials on 8th May 2011.

• Where athletes are unable to compete at these Championships, or where there may be a clash of fixtures, consideration will be given to their performances.

• Athletes who are ill and unable to take part in the Championships must produce evidence from a doctor of their illness.  This must be produced at the scottishathletics office prior to the selection date.

Athletes selected will be required to pay a  Personal Contribution: £30.00 towards this match
